Vezac: Gardens of Marqueyssac
The 2 mile long garden situated above the Dordogne, with fairy tale views is a wonderful spot to visit anytime but on a very hot day as there is a lot of shade. Leave yourself some time to relax on their breezy terrace where you can enjoy lunch or some home made ice cream after you complete your walk.
Cave of Font-de-Gaume
The Font-de-Gaume cave is a marvellous example of prehistoric art from the Madgalenian period with a truly stunning wall paintings and engravings. For reasons of conservation, the number of visitors is limited to 180 each day with a maximum of 12 people per group.
CANOEric
CANOEric is a canoeing company that takes you down the Dordogne river. Rent a canoe for 3 hours while the smooth flow of the river takes you to magical views of small villages such as Castenaud, Les Eyzies, Le Bugue and Castle de Beynac high above the cliffs with an enchanting view of other villages.
Chateau de Commarque
At Chateau de Commarque there are many interesting ruins including caves dating back about 13000 years which were used by prehistoric man and used by more modern peoples up to the middle ages. The chateau is located in a small valley, surrounded by forests. Take a walk through woods and along a dirt path, soon you will arrive in a clearing and discover this amazing medieval castle
Sarlat Market
Every Wednesday and Saturday the great Sarlat market in the Dordogne attracts vendors from the region. Selling many different types of cheeses, fruits, vegetables and many delicious foods. You can also stroll along side streets and enjoy some ice cream, shop for new garments, or even take a seat and enjoy some dinner.
